IPTV on LG Smart TV in the UAE: Setup with VU Player, HotPlayer or IBO Player
To watch IPTV on an LG Smart TV in the UAE, you install a player app from the LG app store, open it to see the TV’s MAC address and device key, and link your playlist to it. VU Player and HotPlayer are the two apps we suggest first on LG, because both are listed for LG TVs by the sources we checked. Setup takes about ten minutes, and our support team can add the playlist for you on WhatsApp.

What you need before you start
- An LG Smart TV running webOS, connected to the internet. LG notes that app installs may be limited on models released before 2015.
- An active IPTV line. A paid plan or our 24-hour free trial (no card, one per household). We send your playlist link and login details on WhatsApp.

Which app to use on an LG TV
A player app has no channels of its own. It is an empty player until your playlist is added, and it is made by an independent developer, not by us or by LG. We checked setup guides and app pages this month and list only what they state.

Any activation fee for these apps is paid to the app developer, not to us, and it is separate from your IPTV plan. Not every app appears in every country’s LG store, so if one is missing, try the next.
Step 1: Check the LG Services Country
This is the usual reason an app seems missing on an LG TV in the UAE. LG’s UAE support page says that if the LG Services Country is set to “Other”, app installs may fail, and it should match the country chosen when the TV was set up.
- webOS 22 to 25 (2022 models onward): Settings, All Settings, General, System, Location, LG Services Country.
- Set it to United Arab Emirates if the TV lives here, then restart the TV.
Step 2: Install the app
The path depends on your TV’s age. These are the steps LG gives for its own app store.

Step 3: Note the MAC address and device key
Open the app. The first screen shows a MAC address (six pairs of letters and numbers, like 00:1A:2B:3C:4D:5E) and a device key. IBO Player labels the MAC as “Device ID”. Take a clear photo of the screen. A single wrong character is the most common reason a playlist does not appear.
Step 4: Add your playlist
- Let us do it. Send the photo to our support team on WhatsApp. We add the playlist to your TV and tell you when it is ready.
- Do it yourself. On a phone or laptop, open the app’s official website, sign in with the MAC address and device key, choose Add Playlist, name it, and paste the playlist link we sent you. With IBO Player, the EPG (TV guide) link goes in its own field.
Then close the app fully and open it again. Live TV, movies and series should load within a minute or two.
Step 5: Get a steady picture
- Use a network cable from your e& or du router to the TV if you can. It beats Wi-Fi for 4K and for football at peak time.
- On Wi-Fi, choose the 5 GHz network, not 2.4 GHz.

If it does not work
