Setting up IPTV takes about five to ten minutes on most devices. You install a player app, open it, and add the login details we send you after your order. This guide covers the devices most people use in the UAE: Samsung and LG smart TVs, Amazon Firestick, Android TV boxes, and iPhone and Android phones. It also explains the five player apps we recommend and what to do if channels do not load.

Not sure your login is still valid? Use our free IPTV checker to see if your line is active and when it expires.

What you need before you start

  • Your login details. After you order on WhatsApp we send your account details. Depending on the app, you use an Xtream Codes login (server URL, username and password) or a playlist link (M3U).
  • A player app on the screen you want to watch on. See the app table below.
  • A stable connection. About 15 Mbps per HD screen and 25 Mbps or more for 4K. If you are unsure, read our guide to IPTV on UAE internet first.

The player apps we recommend

A player app is just the screen you watch through. It contains no channels until you add your login. These are the apps our customers use most, and the ones our support team knows best:

App Works well on Good to know
IBO Player Samsung, LG, Android TV, Firestick, phones Our first choice for smart TVs. Uses a MAC address and device key to link your playlist.
HotPlayer Samsung, LG, Android TV Simple layout, fast channel switching.
VU Player Smart TVs, Android, iPhone, Windows Uses a MAC address and device key, like IBO Player.
CR7 Player Android TV, Firestick, Android phones Popular with sports viewers.
IBO Smart Player Samsung, LG, Android A good alternative if another app is not in your TV’s store.

Several of these apps offer a free trial and then charge a small one-off or yearly activation fee. That fee goes to the app developer, not to us. Check the app’s own website for the current price.

How MAC-based apps work

IBO Player, HotPlayer, VU Player and IBO Smart Player link your playlist to a specific screen. When you open the app for the first time it shows two codes: a MAC address and a device key. Write them down or take a photo. Then either:

  • send them to us on WhatsApp with your order, and we help you add your playlist, or
  • go to the app’s official website, enter the MAC address and device key, and add the playlist link we sent you.

Restart the app. Your channels, movies and series load within a minute or two.

Samsung and LG smart TVs

Full walkthrough for Samsung, with app trials and fees checked on each developer’s site: IPTV on a Samsung Smart TV.

  1. Press the Home button and open the app store (Samsung: Apps; LG: LG Content Store).
  2. Search for IBO Player. If it is not listed, try HotPlayer, VU Player or IBO Smart Player.
  3. Install and open the app. Note the MAC address and device key on the screen.
  4. Add your playlist as described above, then restart the app.
  5. Open the live TV section and pick a channel to test.

Something not working after setup? The IPTV problem solver walks you through the fix step by step.

Older TVs (roughly before 2018) may not carry these apps. In that case a Firestick or Android box plugged into the HDMI port is the easiest fix.

Amazon Firestick and Fire TV

  1. Check the Amazon Appstore for IBO Player or CR7 Player. If it is there, install it and skip to step 5.
  2. If not, go to Settings, My Fire TV, Developer Options, and turn on “Install unknown apps” for the Downloader app. (If Developer Options is hidden, open Settings, My Fire TV, About, and click the device name seven times.)
  3. Install Downloader from the Amazon Appstore.
  4. Open Downloader and enter the app’s official download address from its website.
  5. Open the player app, add your login or link your MAC address, and wait for the channels to load.

Firesticks work best on a cable. An Ethernet adapter for Firestick costs little and removes most freezing problems.

Android TV and Android boxes

  1. Open the Google Play Store.
  2. Install IBO Player, CR7 Player or another app from the table.
  3. Open it and either add an Xtream Codes login (server URL, username, password) or link your MAC address.
  4. Wait for the channel list and TV guide to load.

iPhone, iPad and Android phones

On Android phones, install the same app from Google Play and log in the same way. On iPhone and iPad, search the App Store for IBO Player or another IPTV player that supports Xtream Codes or M3U playlists, then add your details. Phones are handy for watching a match away from the TV, but keep an eye on your data allowance on 5G: one hour of HD uses about 3 GB, and 4K can use 7 GB or more.

Best settings for smooth playback

  • Use a cable or the 5 GHz Wi-Fi network rather than 2.4 GHz.
  • Set the buffer to around 10 seconds if the app has a buffer setting.
  • Try another stream format (TS or HLS) if the app offers the choice.
  • Turn off any VPN while you test. Our service works on e& and du without one. See IPTV without a VPN.
  • Keep the app updated and clear its cache once a month.

If channels do not load

  1. Check your login or MAC address for typing errors. Logins are case sensitive.
  2. Close the app completely and open it again.
  3. Restart the router and the device, router first.
  4. Test another channel. If one channel fails and others work, tell us which one.
  5. If channels load but freeze, follow our IPTV buffering fixes.
  6. If nothing loads on any device, message us on WhatsApp with your device, app and a photo of the error.

Frequently asked questions

Which app is best for a Samsung TV?

IBO Player is our first choice. HotPlayer and IBO Smart Player are good alternatives if it is not in your TV’s store.

Can I use the same subscription on my TV and my phone?

You can install the app on both. How many screens can watch at once depends on your plan, so ask us before you order if you need more than one.

Do I pay for the app?

Some apps charge a small activation fee after a free trial. It goes to the app developer, not to us.

Is the setup the same on e& and du?

Yes. The app and login are the same on any provider. On du? See IPTV on du for router tips.
